The coco de mer plant

The ripe seed (above). It is said to have aphrodisiac properties due to its similarity to part of the female body.

The plant only grows in the Seychelles and will only bear fruit on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse and nowhere else in the world. Does anyone know why?

The giant tortoise, native of the Seychelles and Galapagos Islands.

The species grows to a length of well over a metre and a half and can live for longer than 200 years
